We took the kids to a Splash Pad Park. Getting out of the door was eventful, but we finally made it. The kids had a blast. Allie LOVED it, and we will definitely go again.
She's checking it out before going in. She's pretty timid; she wouldn't go in until I held her hand.
She's waiting her turn like a sweet, little girl. :)
That was fun!
Having fun with Mommy.
Kendan had fun too.
Having a snack break.
The entire Splash Park.
Cousins holding hands. It's cute how much these two like each other. Allie was so upset when Kendan didn't want to hold her hand anymore. :)
What a fun day! It's official: Allie loves the water! Looking forward to many trips to the lake as well....
Oh, Summer, we love you! :)

A is for Allie...and Art
My goal this summer is to teach Allie Beth the alphabet. I've come up with different plans (in the back of my head) for some of the letters (still thinking for the others! :)). Today, we started with A, and she did GREAT! I started first thing this morning with showing her an A, and she colored one in her new alphabet coloring book. I wrote down various words that started with A, and she had to find the A. She picked out every one. Later, I had to get out of the house, so we went shopping. We were in Pottery Barn, and she saw a sign that had SALE written on it. She immediately said, "A," and pointed straight to it. She also saw her name on her bottle and pointed straight to the A. If it's at all like today, I think this summer is going to be a success! :)
The highlight of Allie's day was the Art project that I had prepared. She painted an "A" and loved every moment.....
So fun, Mommy!
I was shocked Allie Beth didn't have paint all over her! She takes after her Mommy; I wouldn't have had it on me either. :)
Now, for B..... I wonder what I will come up with for tomorrow?
Bubbles, Blue, Baby, Banana, Broccoli, Butterfly..........

Summer...Summer...Summertime!
Allie really enjoyed her first day of summer! I was told the last day of school by a fellow teacher that I have a free membership at the Homewood pools for working in the system. Great news! I just wish I would have known that for the past three years that I've been working there!! :) But, we are certainly going to enjoy it this summer!!! There are two pools to choose from: one close to my house and the other in downtown Homewood. It just happens that the one closest to our house isn't used a lot by those in the community (I guess the other pool is a hangout!). Perfect for us!! Allie had the baby pool to herself when we first arrived, and I was able to relax and watch her. The pool has a gate around it, so she can't run to the other pool and jump in. I'm so excited for a relaxing summer at the pool. My summer was made. Thank you, Amanda, for telling me about this special perk for teaching in Homewood! Allie had a blast and so did her Mommy. :)

May
A fun-filled May....
Danny puts up a swing in our front yard for Allie. Unfortunately, we didn't have rope the day he put it up, so it was a little high. We looked like red-necks. :) It is now fixed, and she must swing every day. She loves that we now have one at home!
She made me laugh reaching her hands up for the swing. She is in her bathingsuit. I wish I had pictures of her playing in the baby pool in the front yard, but I forgot. She had a blast playing with our neighbor.
I've watched Krislyn and Kendan a couple times this month. They really enjoy playing with one another.
Allie loves her baby...and loves to feed her too. I keep asking what her baby's name is, and she says, "Allie." I guess she wants her to have the same name.
Allie trying to get Kendan to dress up too. Hahaha
She thought it was hysterical.
She loves to play with Kendan. Here, she's teasing Kendan with his paci. I think she got that from us because we do the same thing to her! She just thought it was so funny when she'd put it on his nose, and he couldn't get it.
They played with this chair for an hour flipping over the back. I wish I thought to get it on video!
Watching Snow White.
I took Allie to Hoover Day. She absolutely loves fire trucks, and they had a couple opened up so that kids could see them. Allie was excited. As you can see, she is also holding rocks. She wouldn't put them down.
Buck Creek Festival in Helena, AL. She had a great time! But, I can't seem to keep this child still!!!!
We're looking forward to a wonderful summer together. I have already started making a list of things to do this summer as a family. I hope it's fun! :)
