Bridal Shower Weekend

Well, I can't believe that Whitney's wedding is one month away!! How is it possible for her to be old enough to be getting married?! We had a weekend filled with bridal showers; three to be exact. It was a B.U.S.Y. week! I hardly had a moment to breathe, but we had a great time celebrating Myles and Whit's upcoming wedding.

Everytime Whitney missed a question about Myles (He had sent the answers to Sara.), Whitney had to chew a piece of gum. That's why her mouth is filled with gum. :)

I think this amount of lingerie will last her a lifetime. :)

I was about to download some more cute pictures from this month. When I saw the overview page, I noticed that I had way too many pageviews a couple days ago.  The top traffic sources were porn websites! I about died!! So, you will not be seeing any more pictures for a little while until I can figure out how to blog with a special password. This will probably include typing in numerous email addresses. If you'd like to be able to view this site, please send me your email address. Sorry, but we have to protect our little girl! :)

A two-year-old's Eternal Perspective

I don't know whether to be scared for my life or smile at the simplicity of my two-year-old beginning to understand the importance of Christ in her life.  When I put Allie Beth down at night, we always pray together. Normally, she prays that her new best friend, Megan, will be at school tomorrow. Last night, though, she said that she wanted to pray that "Jesus will come to our house next week and take us all to Heaven." I was kind of taken back by this prayer at first. Should I be afraid that something is going to happen next week that will take us all to Heaven? Or, should I be excited that Allie Beth wants to go to Heaven to be with Jesus? Either way, it makes me happy. She's beginning to understand who Jesus is and how He's the one that allows us to enter into eternity with our Lord.  I'm anxious to see how God continues to draw Allie Beth to Himself, and I can't wait to see what I learn through that process as well.

Several things that we've heard from our little angel lately:

1. "You happy?"  She's always asking us this question. She loves to make us happy, and she knows when we're not. It definitely keeps me in check! :)

2. "Megan was/was not at school today. I will pray she comes tomorrow." Allie has a new friend, Megan! She is a little 3-year-old girl in her class. She and Megan adore one another! She comes home daily saying that she wants Megan to come to her house to play.  We finally had a playdate last week, and they are precious together! Megan is coming to our house tomorrow. Allie Beth is so excited. Hopefully, I'll get a picture of the two of them.

3. "Mommy, look at me when I'm talking to you.... You're my best friend." Danny and I were talking at dinner, and Allie suddenly started hitting my arm and telling me to look at her. Then, she told me that I was her best friend. MELTED MY HEART. :)

4. "You want to play with me?"

First Haircut

We took Allie Beth for her first haircut. She did not know what to think! The girl who cuts my hair is an old friend of mine from high school, Brandi (Authement) Walker. She is a very talented singer (She even sang at my wedding reception!), so Allie Beth eventually warmed up by singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star with her. She's definitely my child! :)

She was so cute this morning when I was dropping her off at MDO. She kept saying that she was going to tell her teachers about her haircut and show them her new Dora shoes. :) She was very excited. I'm so thankful that she loves going to school.

Aquarium Fun

We have a family tradition. Every year on MLK weekend, we head to Chattanooga to visit the Aquarium. Teachers have free admission to the Aquarium and IMAX Theatre, so we take advantage of it.  Allie Beth enjoyed herself this year; her parents not as much. It is certainly different going with an opinionated two-year-old who does not do what is asked of her. We spent most of the time correcting bad behavior than enjoying the Aquarium. We were lucky to get a few good pictures. She slept the entire way home (2.5 hours), and we were thankful that she woke up a sweet child.... She talked about it for several days, so we assume she enjoyed herself. We hope to enjoy it again next year.

 Watching a movie about butterflies. She didn't last the entire movie, but she lasted as long as the popcorn was in the box. When she had eaten it all, she was ready to leave. :)
